He typically begins with context and the people connected to a place. From there, he works through projects pragmatically while applying a systems-oriented view that considers environmental, material, technical, and urban relationships together. Beauty matters, but often in quiet, everyday ways.

Outside the studio, he follows his curiosity through language learning, cooking, and long walks without a fixed destination.
