O4A was appointed to provide full architectural and interior design services for the Tenant Improvement of the New Richmond Cultural Centre Annex, a previously underutilized city-owned facility. Situated adjacent to the Richmond Cultural Centre, this project was envisioned to enhance and expand the Centre’s programming with new, complementary spaces.

The annex now includes dance studios, a technology lab, a pottery studio, a sound lab, administrative offices, public lounge areas, and versatile meeting rooms—each designed to support a range of cultural, creative, and community activities.

O4A’s scope of work involved facilitating design and planning workshops, coordinating a multidisciplinary consultant team, and overseeing the design process from concept to completion. The project also incorporated accessibility upgrades, the selection of interior finishes, and improvements to the building envelope, including the installation of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. Throughout, O4A collaborated closely with a construction manager to develop an implementation schedule and refine the construction budget, ensuring the facility's successful realization as a vital community resource.
